PERU
The July 30th 2007 meeting of the Multinational Liaison Club focused on
Peru. The meeting was held at Freeman Interiors in Fayetteville. This event
was sponsored by Tim Connors of Coldwell Banker Prime Properites.
Peruvian music was provided by Fernando Luna and his guitar. Peruvian food
was catered
by Betty Luna and Beatriz Burbank.
Our Business speaker
was Joe
Anderson of Anderson Marketing, LLC. The presentation featured Small
Business Purchase Preference with both the NYS and US Federal Governments. [Joe's
bio ] Our Cultural speaker was Peruvian native, Fanny Villarreal.
UKRAINE
The May 10th 2007 meeting of the multinational Liaison Club focused on the
Ukraine. The meeting was held at the
Syracuse Ukrainian National Home
in Syracuse, NY.
Our Cultural speaker was Dr. Patricia Burak, director of the Lillian and Emanuel
Slutzker Center for International Services, and assistant professor of
literature at Syracuse University.

Dr. Burak's topic was "The World is Flat...and so We Dance."
Laurel J. Eveleigh,
Attorney at Law, was our Business speaker. The topic was legal business
entities.

March 29th, we celebrated Independence Day of Greece at the new location of Steak & Sundae restaurant on Teall Ave in Syracuse.
The owner of the restaurant is Greek. He prepared an
elaborate array of delicious meals from the beautiful country of Greece. Our business speaker

LATIN September 2006 - May Memorial,

This month's event will feature a Latin theme, music, culture and cuisine provided by Las Delicias restaurant. Our cultural speaker was Hugo Acosta, owner and publisher of CNY Latino. Our business speaker was from S.C.O.R.E. and spoke on marketing.
June 2006 - World Lounge and Martini Bar Hanover Square (315-424-1390) FREE informal social gathering for members, friends and those interested in the club at World Lounge and Martiniti Bar. Free appetizers and a full cash bar were available. Hosted by member Wendhel Elias.
JAPAN
May 2006 - Ambrosia Downtown in Armory Square Japanese food was prepared by Ambrosia and we had a guest speaker on Japanese culture, Tomoko Walters from Syracuse University, Art Zimmer, the owner of the Syracuse NewTimes and exotic custom-made Zimmer cars (a true entrepreneur!), was our business speaker.

KOREA February 2006 - Kim's Seoul Buffet Our second meeting was a winning success and many great connections were made. Korea and the Korean New Year were presented. We celebrated with food catered by Kim's Seoul Buffet and an informative lecture about Korean culture by Professor Joong Rok Kwon from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. We would like to thank our sponsor and guest lecturer for the evening, Deraux Branch from Branch's Driving School. The school is currently offering a discount for all MLC members for the defensive driving course.
